Sometimes we have rough weeks. Sometimes things don’t happen the way we expect them to happen and we are left feeling a bit adrift and bewildered. Sometimes we are reaching our goals, loving our life, and working towards our dreams when the rug is suddenly pulled out from under us and it hurts like hell when we hit the ground. Sometimes we want to give up, stop caring so much, stop reaching out and moving forward, stop trying. Sometimes we need a day or a week to hold ourselves close, cry until our eyes swell up, and grip tightly with whatever strength we have left to the truth that this too shall pass. On this side of one of those rough weeks, I can tell you there is no shame in not being able to hold it all together all the time. There is no shame in resting your hurt feelings, sore muscles, and tired heart for awhile. There is no need to apologize for being human, for grieving, for wanting to surrender to the waves of despair and discouragement. There is no shame in asking for help, for understanding, for a little extra love. You will be okay. You will dance again. You will be awesome.
The below video is one I watch anytime I start to feel blue or ready to give up. I hope it brightens your life a bit.
